Anyone who lives in the Washington DC area, knows what it feels like to have talent and "good teams" year in and year out, but for some reason seems to 1) lose and 2) find a way to let this talent walk!

Chris Weber, Juan Howard, Ben Wallace (who were all here AT THE SAME TIME, in the prime of their careers), Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Brian Mitchell, Stephen Davis, LaVar Arrington (in the prime, PRE-injury), Gary Clark and even Art Monk (thats right even HOF'ers are not safe)!

Well Washington sports fans, it seems that the tradition is no more! It seems to have started with the Capitals and the locking in of Alex Ovechkin to a 13 year contract (now weather he plays that out or not remains to be seen)! And now our beloved Wizards have signed Antawn Jamison to a four-year extention worth $50 million and this was done EARLY! Now here is whats interesting about this, now this puts the pressure on the player! Who you might ask? Well in the past Gilbert Arenas, who opted out of his last year of his contract, has stated a number of times that he would resign here if the keep the core team. Well step one was made with this signing, let see how this plays out.

One down, two to go! Can this be the dawning of a new era in DC sports? Lets hope so!!
