On the heels of excitement with the re-signing of both Gilbert Arenas and Antwaan Jamison the future was looking good and Washington sports fans were beginning to say "finally our home teams are keeping key players!" With that comes some interesting news, just as the NBA free agency market opens up. ![]() One of the fan favorites, Roger Mason Jr., a key player that stepped up to the plate during the Wizards playoff run last year as Gilbert was out hurt. A player that is a Washington native and former Virginia star player has slipped away and signed with the San Antonio Spurs for 2-years and $7.3 million. This will be interesting to watch and see the impact that this loose may or may not have. Washington not only lost a good guy, a key player and a native son - they also loosing a player that, in a time where negative news takes the fore front with athletes, keeps his nose clean and has done an excellent job in staying out of trouble. |
